YPN - Young Professionals Network

The Triple Play Associations of Southern California has started a chapter of the Young Professionals Network. If you’re not already involved with YPN on a local or state level, here’s what you need to know. Don’t miss this chance for valuable business networking, learning opportunities, and fun.

We’ve compiled answers to the top 5 questions that we get from YPN newcomers:
  1. WHO RUNS YPN?

REALTOR® Magazine originally created the Young Professionals Network to help young professionals succeed in this business by connecting them with their REALTOR® association, peers, and community. YPN’s National Advisory board helps guide YPN national's membership activity and events. Because YPN is national, state and local REALTOR® associations have started their own YPN chapters to help members interact on a local level. YPN's Triple Play Associations of Southern California, brought to you by the Inland Valleys Association of REALTORS®, Pacific West Association of REALTORS®, and Tri-Counties Association of REALTORS®, is one of our newest chapters in your state.

  2. HOW DO I JOIN MY LOCAL YPN CHAPTER?

First, send an e-mail to your local YPN chapter: marke@tricorealtors.com. Please include your name and contact information to get added to the mailing list. This way you'll be notified of any of the chapter's upcoming events. You can view a list of other official YPN chapters at the YPN Web site.

  3. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF JOINING YPN?

As a member of YPN, you can expect:

    • Exclusive invitations to YPN events. YPN events are a fun way for members to meet other real estate professionals, build a referral network, and learn about career resources available.

    • Learning opportunities. Young professionals have unique challenges. By belonging to a network of peers who face similar issues, you'll be able to bounce ideas off of one another and provide support to each other.

    • The chance to become a leader. Many real estate practitioners who are new to the industry want to get involved with their local, state, or national association of REALTORS® but they don't know how to go about it. YPN encourages you to explore leadership opportunities across the board, and also to get involved in your community.

  4. DOES YPN HAVE A FACEBOOK PAGE?

Of course! Here’s a link to YPN on Facebook. YPN also has a presence on LinkedIn and Twitter.

  5. WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL YPN WEB SITE?

Bookmark the YPN Web site, www.REALTOR.org/YPN, where you can find links to our Rookie Survival Guide, REALTOR® Magazine's annual “30 Under 30” feature, videos and photos from recent YPN events, and the latest postings to the YPN Lounge blog. If you’re not already a member of YPN-national, you can also sign up at the site. Just click on the link that reads: "Join the YPN Network!"
(PLEASE NOTE: Just because you are a member of your YPN chapter, doesn't mean you are automatically a member of YPN-national. To receive e-mails or YPN event invitations to REALTOR®conferences from YPN-national as well, be sure to sign up as a member at the YPN-national Web site.)

Have a question that wasn’t answered here? Send an e-mail to your local chapter (marke@tricorealtors.com) or to YPN-national (ypn@realtors.org).
